Spike’s Bed and Bone Boarding Kennel has been set up with the slogan “A Rural Retreat for your Pet” first and foremost in mind. Located on 200 acres and surrounded by paddocks with horses, goats, cows, and a donkey grazing peacefully, it truly is a rural escape.
Fresh air, plenty of room to run, comfortable hammock-style beds with soft vet-pet bedding, and a TV in each cabin create a cosy and relaxing environment. All guest cabins are fully insulated, air-conditioned, and heated, positioned under a large roof for extra comfort. Each cabin also has an undercover outdoor run, so your pet can toilet comfortably in any weather.
Our team provides gentle, attentive care to every dog, ensuring comfort, safety, and a positive experience throughout their stay.
Each dog receives individual care based on their needs—whether they love playtime, relaxing, swimming, or quiet enrichment.
At the other end of the building, we have a dedicated indoor play space where dogs can romp, run, and play safely during hot or rainy weather.
When the weather is nice, dogs enjoy a large paddock divided into smaller areas—perfect for dogs who prefer to relax, laze, or simply spend time in a quieter zone.
We also have another fully fenced larger paddock for energetic dogs who love to run freely, chase balls, or play with frisbees. This paddock also includes access to a dam, ideal for doggos who enjoy swimming and cooling off.
Did we mention our bedtime treats? For those who know “Wally’s Dog Café,” that’s us (currently on hiatus since Covid). This means we know how to do treats properly!
With paw-rent permission, our guests enjoy lactose-free Puppacinos, cookies or Doggy Donuts, and in summer, a cold dog-friendly beer made with glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support.
For meals, we offer two premium dry food options:
Black Hawk or Hypro Premium Grain Free.
For doggos who prefer a raw diet, Big Dog raw patties can be added for an additional cost depending on size and portion.
Pawrents are welcome to bring their own food as long as it’s clearly labelled and any frozen raw meals are pre-portioned into daily servings. Throughout the day, dogs receive random treats and, of course, their nightly treats as mentioned above.
